Porvari - Amps On
The new
album by Porvari, Amps On, is now available for download from itunes.
This album sees the band switching their amps on and cranking up their
electric guitars. Same melodies and original tunes with the occasional
hint of folk but now with added grit. Visit their website for more

sarana
and Blu May Session
I
recently did an online jam with sarana, an ambient artist from Finland,
using NINJAM an online music collaboration system. This has
one of the most exciting musical experiences I have had in recent
years. By creating a server to which we could both connect, we were
able to perform an improvised ambient soundscape in real time. With
little planning out poured two hours of beautiful music. Two
people separated by a huge distance both focussed on the same moment in
time.

The
Shinrei-On
Japanese
film-maker Matsunosuke Ami has
just completed his latest movie "The Shinrei-On" which means psychic
phenomenon and
features two
pieces of my music taken from the internet archive - Dust to Dust -
Untitled 1 and Gymnopedies 3. The film is available on DVD in Japan.

Wicked
Messenger - Officium Noctorum
I wrote
a
review of this recently released double CD by one of my favourite
ambient noise artists, www.plaguerecordings.com
"A
new direction for
Mr Messenger, evocative of medieval europe, the inquisition, dark
monasteries, fire, torture and death. Followed by cataclysm, disaster
and doom. It is intriguing, unsettling and hypnotic all at the same
time and I really enjoy it. New
sound elements are very welcome such as church bells, monk chanting etc
as well as the general mass destruction we have come to enjoy from WM.
I was surprised by the spoken word section on the second movement but
fascinated by the dark tones from a sacred text. I'm
glad that WM has continued to produce excellent work and it is a
departure from the last album Vision Rites, showing that there is
continued innovation in the areas of deep dark horror soundscapes and

Phenomenon
32
Film maker, game
designer and general creative type Jonas Kyratzes has created a
mysterious video game called Phenomenon 32 and used some of my music
from the Internet Archive for the soundtrack. It is a stylish platform
shooter which is still in development but available for download from

Soundborb
I recently stumbled
across some automatic random ambient sound generator software called
Soundborb which is available as a free download . You can load it with
sounds which is uses in random combinations to create a constantly
evolving soundscape which never repeats its combinations. There are
